Yixing Clay Type

Yixing clay contains about 2% to 8% of iron oxide. Due to the difference in iron content and the difference in kiln temperature which are the reason why the purple clay teapot has various magnificent colors. For instance: Purple , Black , Brown , Yellow , Green and other colors.

 

Purple clays are used to be mainly divided into three categories: purple clay, green clay, and red clay. With modern deep mining with modern machinery, the variety of fault clay has been increasing and has become the fourth category of purple sand minerals
