Every year, only a small region in the Phoenix Mountain is dedicated for winter harvest only which makes winter dancongs a rare delicacy for many tea drinkers. This year we are lucky to try these gems.
We thought our Spring Song Dynasty Old Bush Milan Dancong Oolong is strong in "Cha Qi" but this winter harvest just shows us how good Milan can be.
Same as the spring harvest, it is also medium roasted. This time, its strong cha qi and minerals from the old bush are well reflected in the amber liqour with a light charcoal & caramel sweetness which keeps us steeping for an hour. We suggest a short steeping time for this mineral rich & high bittersweet Milan unless you are craving for intoxicating bitterness ~
Mi Lan Xiang means ‘honey orchid fragrance’ and is one of the famous types of Phoenix dan cong. Titled with Song dynasty mean the tea leaf are from a mother tree older than 300 years. The tea has a characteristic honey aroma and orchid flavor, giving it this name; these flavors are wonderfully blended together in the tea, making it an exceptional treat.
