Leshan Giant Buddha Woodfired Teacup (Required 4 weeks Preorder)
This Leshan Giant Buddha Woodfired Teacup are fully handmade by studio named Shui Du in Jingdezhen. They are made of well grinded coarse clay before woodfire at 1260 degree Cel. for 48-60 hours.
As its names suggests, its features the Leshan Giant Buddha 71-metre (233 ft) tall stone statue, built between 713 and 803 (during the Tang dynasty), depicting Maitreya in Sichuan. Leshan Giant Buddha's contruction is led by a Chinese monk named Hai Tong. He hoped that the Buddha would calm the turbulent waters that plagued the shipping vessels traveling down the river. The artist hope this cup instead of calming the angry water but to calm our soul.
As these pieces are all handmade, each may vary slightly in terms of pattern, size and dimensions. Each cup holds a volumn approximately 80ml.
